What we do

Welding and fabrication first. Full construction when the job calls for it.

From a cracked trailer tongue to a steel building package, the work gets scoped, built and finished by people who've done it in the field.

Metal buildings

Barndominiums, shops, hangars and commercial steel — erected from purlin to red iron, with the welds you'd want inspected.

Erection · Structural

Hangar & hydraulic doors

Big one-piece hydraulic and bi-fold doors, built, hung and balanced. We've set doors past 40 feet wide and five tons.

Aviation · Ag · Vineyard

Pipe & process welding

Pipeline and plant-quality pipe: hospital and facility piping, process lines, stainless sanitary work for food processing.

Carbon · Stainless

Tanks & rainwater systems

Bolted and welded steel tanks, liners and roofs for rainwater catchment and storage — assembled on site, sealed to hold.

Ranch · Residential

Trailer & equipment repair

Frames, tongues, axles, buckets, booms and cracked castings — repaired to work, not just to pass a glance.

Mobile · Same week

General custom fabrication

Bumpers, welding beds, racks, staircases, branding irons, brackets and one-off pieces in carbon, stainless or aluminum — TIG-clean where it shows.

Commercial & government contracts

Set up for the big jobs, not just the small ones.

Mixon Construction takes on commercial and government work as a general contractor — our own crew on the steel, vetted subs on concrete, framing, electrical and finish — in partnership with a service-disabled-veteran-owned contracting company for federal and state projects.

Mobile welding

The shop comes to you.

The truck carries the machine, the gas, the steel and the tools — so the work happens where the metal already is: your pens, your pad, your driveway, your dock.

About

Owned and run by the guy holding the stinger.

Luke Mixon started out welding pipeline, refineries and plant shutdowns — the kind of work where every joint gets x-rayed and a bad tie-in sends you home. He brought that standard back to the Hill Country and built Mixon Construction around it.

Today the company handles ranch entrances and gates, pipe fence, cattle shelters, steel stairs, metal buildings, trailer and equipment repair, and custom fabrication for private clients. The welding rig is a fully built-out truck bed Luke fabricated himself, so most jobs get done where the metal already is.

Mixon Construction is set up to grow past welding — coordinating steel, concrete, framing and trades as a general contractor on larger commercial and government projects — while keeping the welding and fabrication in-house where it belongs.

"MC²" — Mixon Construction Company, after Mixon Cattle Company, his dad's outfit. Same name, second generation.

The flag in the logo

The Texas flag in the logo is real: a weathered flag Luke pulled out of a tree along the river during the search last year from the floods in Comfort.

It's on every hoodie and every truck door since.
